Our American Heroes

Our American Heros

This past week I attended an amazing program honoring our country and all the service men and woman.   Many of us also attended parades and firework shows, as well as red, white and blue celebrations with family and friends joining together for our American 4th of July Holiday.

I always get such a chill in my body and a choked heart as we honor all that serve and all that have fallen while serving for our country.  Freedom has a price and there are  hero's in our everyday life that paid that price of freedom for all of us.

At the end of the Star Spangled Event themed, "One Nation Under God", each Branches name was announced and all the men and woman serving in that specific branch came forward to be thanked in front of the large group of people (about 200 +).  Their flag stood tall and these amazingly selfless soldiers, shook hands with one another and embraced as  they all approached the stage one by one.
They all fought for us, for our freedom, for this Independent Day we celebrate each year.  The stage began to fill with soldiers of all ages and in closing, a man was honored for his Gold Star that he earned from Vietnam for the war he fought and the civilians and soldiers he saved.  His story of Heroic events was shared and my son and I  listened intently to the sacrifice this man had made losing his arm and much use on one side of his body; living to share this horrifying experience.

I always feel it's just not enough, our Thank You is not enough, or standing ovations are not enough, we can never thank these soldiers and their families enough for what they have been through and what they come back to America with after war and continue to experience emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Spouses continued as single parents while the other is gone for months or years at a time risking their lives not knowing if their soldier will come home or not.  The families that sacrifice their time together and go through day to day with their children letting them know their mother or father will be home "soon".    The spouses' that live day to day with their children and their struggles and triumphs at home, doing it all alone praying their soldiers are safe.   Is it worth getting "star-struck" in all the social media & television of the star studded celebrities when I think the most humble and honorable people that we are with everyday need more than just a hand shake and a thank you, they need to be recognized and so appreciated much more than once or twice a year.

I know this will never be enough, but we THANK YOU, all our MILITARY FAMILIES for what you do for our country each and every single day.  God Bless YOU and God Bless this Nation.
AS MOTHERS, Teach your children to love our country, teach your children that we are all one Nation Under God with heroes right in front of us crossing our paths every day. Teach your children WHY we celebrate this very special holiday.   Please comment below, your families name  (spouse & soldier) that sacrificed for our country.  We will honor, pray, and thank  these families for our Freedom & this 4th of July!  Below are links to "do more" as a family:

I dedicate this page to our service members Eric Eberle, Brian Pagliaroni, Tony Gonzalez and our Grandfathers that fought for us.
